Lives (on Canvas) Exhibition
December 4th to 21st, 2013

Toronto, ON – Twist Gallery is excited to announce the opening of our exhibition Lives (on Canvas). The exhibit will take place from December 4 to December 21, 2013 and feature the paintings of eight artists, brought together by a passion for art and art making. Lynn Brophy, Deborah Clarke, Patricia Dundas, Diana Ericson, Susan Friedman, Madelaine Roig, Candace Séguinot and Marilyn Vasilkioti have been learning from and motivating each other for the past seven years.  

Lives (on Canvas) juxtaposes representational, non-objective and abstract approaches to art, drawing from a broad spectrum of motivation. Diana Ericson’s art is inspired by modern destructive and disastrous events (top, left), Deborah Clarke's with the fragility

and beauty of nature (bottom, middle), and Patricia Dundas's with a love of portrait painting (bottom, right). Viewers are called upon to notice their own responses to the art they see, and perhaps, ultimately, to experience equilibrium among disparate artistic expressions.  

The opening reception for Lives (on Canvas) will be held on December 5th, 2013 from 6pm to 10pm
